Recovery center selection for end-of-life automotive lithium-ion batteries using an integrated fuzzy WASPAS approach

With the emergence of battery-based electric vehicles, transportation systems gradually leave using fossil fuel-based combustion engines. Due to their reasonable performance, Lithium-ion batteries have become one major used for vehicles. Although these are being in most companies, high production cost, rare raw material, and short life cycle raised important incentives recovery process. However, locating a center end-of-life is multi-aspect decision making problem influenced by many criteria. For this purpose, novel integrated decision-making model developed based on Measuring Attractiveness Categorical Based Evaluation TecHnique (MACBETH) calculating criteria weights Weight Aggregated Sum Product ASsessment (WASPAS) methods under fuzzy environment with Dombi norms evaluating alternatives address location selection considering technical as well environmental, economic, social aspects. To show reliability applicability method, real-world case study Istanbul investigated. The method evaluate six potential locations possible establishment center. Results showed that Tuzla district suitable opening batteries. very good position terms proximity suppliers, location. illustrate robustness obtained results, extensive sensitivity analysis tests performed.
